What we do

African ACES acts as a bridge between subject experts and beneficiaries. We work together to compress specialist knowledge through digital media into visual and audio formats in order to target maximum amount of beneficiaries. 

Traditionally, this has been through television broadcast, DVD distribution and uploading to the web. We are now also moving towards audio recording and reformatting for radio and podcast. African ACES partners with business; NGO’s; educational institutions, government and funding organisations to identify and develop projects, with emphasis on the following target sectors:

Welfare and Humanitarian programmes

Poverty relief in the form of knowledge, training and educational programmes enabling beneficiaries to sustainably uplift themselves and their communities through skills transfer

Promotion of reconciliation, mutual respect and tolerance between peoples of South Africa

Community development and anti-poverty initiatives including promotion and training relating to self-help, empowerment, capacity building and skills development

Training and educational programmes to emerging micro enterprises

Healthcare programmes

Preventative and education programmes relation to HIV/AIDS infection.

Primary health care education, sex education and family planning.
Pre and antenatal education for mothers

TB awareness & Nutrition

Prevention of malnutrition in children and improvement of immune system to boost disease resistance.

Water, sanitation & hygiene education.

Land and Agriculture programmes

Training and support through knowledge-based programmes to emerging farmers in order to improve capacity to start and manage agricultural operations.

Training and support through knowledge-based programmes to communities and individuals in sustainable subsistence farming methods in order to alleviate food insecurity.

Education and Development programmes

Training for unemployed persons with the purpose of enabling them to obtain employment.

Career guidance programmes provided to learners and students attending school and higher education institutions in order to facilitate better understanding of careers.

Entrepreneurship programmes highlighting Best practices; Role-model interviews; and Small Business Management

Culture and Heritage programmes

Promotion and preservation of the arts, culture and customs of African people.

Preservation through digital recording of marginalized languages threatened with extinction.
